Emergency roofers across Surrey and the South East

When a roof fails, it rarely picks a convenient moment. A leak that appears overnight, a run of slipped tiles after a storm or wind lifting a flat roof can let water into your home within hours. At Alliance Roofing & Building, we respond fast, usually the same day, to make your roof safe and stop the damage getting worse.

We cover Surrey, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and West London. There is no call-out charge, and once your roof is watertight we give you a clear written quote for the permanent repair, so you are never rushed into a decision or pressured on the spot.

When to call

When to call an emergency roofer

If water is getting into your home, or could within hours, it is worth a call. The most common emergencies we are called out to are:

  • An active leak dripping through a ceiling, light fitting or into the loft
  • Storm or high-wind damage that has lifted, cracked or torn part of the roof
  • Slipped or missing tiles or slates leaving the roof open to the weather
  • A sagging or bulging ceiling, which usually means water is pooling above it
  • Fallen debris or a damaged chimney, loose flashing or a dislodged ridge

Not sure whether it counts as an emergency? Call us on 01753 316 053 and describe what you can see. We will give you a straight answer and, if it can wait safely, we will tell you that too.

What happens next

What we do first

Our first job is always to make your roof safe and watertight. That usually means fitting a temporary cover or felt, sealing the entry point and clearing anything that is holding water against the roof, so the leak stops and no more water gets in.

Only once the immediate risk is dealt with do we carry out a full assessment. We take photos, explain exactly what has failed and why, and give you a clear written quote for the permanent repair. There is no pressure and no obligation. You decide, in your own time, whether we carry out the lasting fix.

While you wait

What to do while you wait for us

Switch off the electrics

If water is anywhere near lights, sockets or wiring, turn off the electricity to the affected area at the consumer unit.

Move valuables & catch the water

Move furniture and anything precious clear, and put a bucket or bowl under the drip to protect your floors.

Take photos

Photograph the damage inside and, from ground level, outside. This helps us and supports any insurance claim later.

Stay off the roof

Do not go up on the roof or a ladder yourself. Wet roofs and storm damage are dangerous, leave it to us.

Call us

Ring 01753 316 053 and tell us what you can see. We will talk you through it and get to you fast.

Emergency roofing FAQs

Your questions, answered

How fast can you get to me? +
For genuine emergencies we aim to respond the same day, and often within a few hours depending on where you are and how busy the day is. Call 01753 316 053 and we will give you a realistic time when you ring, not a vague promise.
Do you charge a call-out fee? +
No. There is no call-out charge to come out, inspect the problem and make your roof safe. You only pay for the repair work itself, and we agree that price with you in writing before we carry it out.
What counts as a roofing emergency? +
Anything letting water into your home, or about to. That includes active leaks, storm or wind damage, slipped or missing tiles, a sagging ceiling, and fallen debris or chimney damage. If you are not sure, call us and describe it, we will tell you honestly whether it needs an urgent visit.
Can you stop a leak in the rain? +
Yes. We carry out emergency make-safe work in wet weather all year round. We fit a temporary cover or felt to stop water getting in straight away, then return to complete the permanent repair once the roof has been fully assessed and conditions allow.
Do you cover storm damage? +
Yes. Storm and high-wind damage is one of the most common call-outs we deal with, from lifted and torn coverings to slipped tiles, loose flashing and dislodged ridges. We make the roof safe first, then quote for the lasting repair.
Will my insurance cover emergency roof repairs? +
Often yes, particularly for storm damage, though it depends on your policy. We can provide photos and a written report of the damage and the work needed, which you can use to support your claim. It is worth calling your insurer as soon as you can and keeping the evidence we give you.
